I notice my electricity ( aydem ) bills have nearly doubled. Would it be our lcd tv?

I doubt it. When are you comparing your bills to? Electricity went up last year a couple of times.

Electricity went up last year and beginninh of this year by 73% and another 15% in October this year.

and its going up again on 1st january 2010...expected to be around a further 6%.

I was just comparing this year. Our last 2 week bill was double the one in June, same usage apart from new tv and little vacuum cleaner

Most LCD tv's use less electricity than the old type. We replaced our TV in the UK with an LG LCD in March this year and our bills have dropped dramatically over the last two quarters. More likely it's price increases as mentioned above.

Just checked Novembers bill, gone up again.
