We've just come back and were in ALIs' last week and I agree, EFES large very cold 1.5 and great food that costs 'nothing'.

also in fethiye next to the arts centre is a great little bar that sells carlsberg on draft in ice cold glasses at only 2.5 a pint absolutley fab and good burgers and hot dogs too

Could somebody please give me some very simple directions (as I'm a dumb blonde) on how to get to Ali's Bar.  We have heard such brilliant reports about it we want to visit.  We tried in April to find him but failed miserably.  Even Scunner and Cheryl couldn't give us any directions.  Our apartment is at Violet so if anyone can give us directions from there it would be very much appreciated.

down the calis road headng to calis the first shop on the right hand side is alis road ,150 meters up on the left hand side,or if you were on the dolmus going into calis ,where it turns left off the main road ,you go right  150 meters on the left

The 2YTL for draft and 3YTL for bottles at the Forum is still very reasonable when you consider what we pay back in the UK Have heard of other postings talking of up tp 5YTL a beer.

Have a look at the prices for Efes in Migros for comparison and then decide if you think any bars are ripping you off. Most are not so the choice is yours.

a can of efes last week in the shops was 1.75 so 2 sounds pretty reasonable to me, and not really bothered whether its in a bottle or draft its all going the same way as long as its ice cold I'm happy

You can buy a bottle of Efes in the local markets for 1.5 ytl. But the market doesn't have to pay bar staff, electric, tax, rent, etc etc etc. I rest my case.

Just got back,went to the patisserie cafe on Fethiye quay,
paid 5tyl for a small Efes :o,when I questioned it, He told me this is a special place:-\ now I think about it ,I forgot to tip him

..or do as Tribalelder suggests at home and go to Tesco in the UK and see how much beer costs, then decide if the UK bars are ripping you off.

you can go to the efes factory and buy cans of efes in bulk we do that most years when we arrive we stock up the fridge

its called scarlets and its in the left turning before the bridge walking towards the sea,you can see the slide from the main road,whoop murat at pool for me while your there...............dennis.......
