I remember watching him, week in - week out at Leeds - playing in midfield with Batty, Strachan and Gary Mac. Won the last old 1st Div title before the Prem was launched. Great times for Leeds fans.

RIP

Heard the news on the radio while making lunch.  Totally shocked and saddened by it.  Quite a few years ago now my youngest daughter was a Leeds United fan and idolised Gary in particular.  We went to a charity event in the grounds of Harewood House in Leeds and some of the United players were there, including Gary.  My daughter got to speak to him, get his autograph and have her picture taken with him.  He was a very nice unassuming young man who took the time to meet his supporters.

So tragic at such a young age.

Whatever your reasons Gary, may you rest in peace and my deepest sympathy to your wife, children and other family and friends.

Very sad news.  Gary was the football player I most admired. It is sad to think that he had issues that he felt nobody could help him with.
