What, in your opinion, should the criteria be for judging the Manager of Year.

Post your choice if you wish but please give your reasons as that is the main point of the post.

Nigel Adkins is my choice, he took over my beloved Saints when they were in division one [ they had 10 points deducted] they won that last year and NOW 2nd from top in championship AND going up into the premier next season  :) :)

For me John it would be between Roberto Martinez(wigan) and Arsene Wenger(arsenal), reason for Roberto his never say die attitude and his dedication. Arsene for his faith in the team after a humiliating 8-2 defeat to man utd and been 4th from the bottom of the premier league, selling fabregas and installing RVP as captain, so many calling for his dismisal but stuck to his tactics and took them to 3rd in the table.

I'd consider Martinez, Brendan Rodgers but have to go for Paul Lambert.

Many thanks for the replies but on what criteria are you putting forward your candidates.

karaokemark - I don't know if England is the same, but in Scotland we have three nominees from across the Divisions.

Neil Lennon of Celtic, Murdo McLeod at Motherwell and Derek Adams at Ross County.

I believe there is a perfect equation to work this out, although I have no idea how to work it out. Something like points x style divided by money spent = best manager.
