Rio is past his best. I think even Fergie knows that- hence Jones was bought. As for Richards - he's not been playing enough in the City team so he's picked Johnson. Both are good going forward but poor defending IMO.

Downing v Adam Johnson is interesting. Johnson is a far better attacker but Downing can and will cover his defenders and is a little more experienced in Europe.

Milner is a good pick. He will work his socks off in any position he's asked to play.

My worry is Rooney - he can't play the first three games and after Sunday it appears he can't hit a cows arse with a banjo anyway! I'd have dropped him for  Sturridge.

Well they've got both this time :D

How can he be classed a Yes Man when he's taking Terry? The FA would have loved him to be left out of the tournament due to his impending court case.

He's proved in taking Terry that he makes his own decisions and will stand or fall by them.

Give the guy a chance for goodness sake. At least he doesn't open bank accounts in his dog's name!!

Being a Man U fan (go on have a go we can take it lol) I have to say Ferdinand is way past his best, Rooney also hasn't been on form lately, Joe Hart is simply the best GK in England, personally i will be watching a few of the games at least just to see how we get on.

Even Fergie says Rio can't play two games in a week now - so I guess he bought Jones on the basis he won't be using Rio that much in the future.

Hope I am proved wrong but to me this looks the weakest English squad I have seen. The only real so called world class player Rooney will not take part in the opening 2 matches.

I cannot understand how the bookies can make England 4th favourites.
