Jamie Carragher

Will retire as a professional footballer and of course from LFC at the end of this season. Are we seeing the end of the 'old school' footballers who are loyal to their club, only make headlines on the pitch (for the right reasons) and put back into their society ?

Well done Carra. I salute you.

A legend and a true old school footballer who has been with Liverpool since he was nine years old.  It's sad  that his style of loyal to your club British footballer is becoming a thing of the past.   Well done Carra.
I know you will never be forgotten.

Not just the loyalty, one of a very few Premiership players with a bit of personality when interviewed. I'm sure he could have done a couple of seasons pension booster in the US or Middle East - quite fitting that he chose not to.

Sadly a dying breed. A great defender. My lasting memory of him will not be on the field however. I was listening to TalkSport on the radio when Adrian Durham was criticising Carragher's decision to retire from International football. Carragher heard the article and rang in live on air to give him a piece of his mind. Great stuff!! The class is still on Talksports website. Sorry I can't do the link.

I remember BBC Radio London or similar having a right old go at Frank Lampard for walking out on his wife & kids and exactly the same happened - Lampard phoned in and pulled them apart about it.
