Wigan's McManaman's tackle on Newcastle's Haidara was a total disgrace and needs to be punished severely.
It may be acceptable that referee Mark Halsey did not see it but the assistant is an ever bigger disgrace than the player for not taking action - he had a clear unobstructed view of a horrific challenge.
Perhaps someone should have him be on the receiving end of such a career threatening injury.
