Our Nichola and Dogan, the reason behind the original and phenomenal success of the amazing Mozaik Bahce, are opening in Calis with their new venture MOTIF restaurant.

We open this coming Wednesday, 17th April from lunch time.
We won't be taking table reservations it'll be the same as we did at Mozaik, first come, first served etc... unless it is a special occasion and then we will of course be pleased to accommodate.
This way is better for us, better for our team and ultimately better for those that come to eat :)
Dogan and the team have pulled all the stops out over the past couple of months to get the place ready and I'll be taking and adding photos to the Page of the garden, restaurant and the hotel rooms as soon as is physically possible.
We look forward to seeing you there :)

I'll be sharing photos on our Page soon, but to sum up, they are modern, two have a sea view and a balcony, they all have nice large bathrooms and you can open the door without it hitting the bed ;)

But will you be taking bookings - I know you explained why you didn't at Mosaic Bahce but I can't remember the explanation. Age thing AGAIN :-[ :-[ :-[

hahaha Keith, thankfully the rooms while not massive, unlike the stair and landing areas, are a decent size and the nice thing in my opinion is all the bathrooms are modern and spacious...
John, the reason we stopped taking bookings at Mozaik and why we won't at Motif is because when people book they all want to book for pretty much the same time, about 8pm.
This means that the tables can't be used from about 6.30, 7 onwards because no one likes to have a hurried meal so for roughly two hours you have an empty restaurant when it could be being utilised.
It also puts loads of pressure on all the staff from the waiters, the bar staff and the kitchen because people naturally want to be able to order their drinks and their meals fairly promptly and don't want to wait an hour or more for their drinks and meals. It's not possible to take 70 or so orders, get everyone their drinks and their meals within half an hour of arriving.
By not taking bookings people come and go at different times which creates a smoother and more manageable work flow for us and better service for customers. When people know you don't take bookings they know to come earlier or later and some will still come at what appears to be the normal time of eight and they can stay as long or short a time as they like once seated.

No Rob, sadly not... we will open at twelve and much as I love the village breakfasts they are very time consuming for the staff and they'll need that time for day and evening prep.
However, maybe in the winter months we might when I am fairly certain we will only open in the day times.

we are staying at the jiva beach from the 10th-24th june on all inclusive basis, but during our stay we like to get out and about and sample local restaurants and give these places some custom,so ive noted down the MOTIF and we will be sure to give it a try while on holiday.is it still owned by the same people that had the mozaik bache as this restaurant gets super feedback.

We will take bookings for special occasions, as long as you're not taking the pee and you're here in say May but your birthday isn't until October ;) that wouldn't count as a "nearly" birthday ;D

Thanks for the info Nichola, no it’s my wife’s birthday late May but we will be back in England then. In addition there’s 8 of us. My wife & I are regulars to the area but 6 friends have never sampled the delights of SW Turkey.

We had a meal in Motif last night. Tried some of their mezes and main courses. All were very delicious and the service was very good. It was full eventhough it is beggining of season. We will definitely be back.
Hope they will be open in winter also.

Nearly every table occupied, while other places were pretty much empty. If that’s how April is, summer is going to be interesting.
As Cenk said, lovely authentic food and service, excellent wines too.

I know it's early days, but we used to love lunch at Mozaic with food from the evening menu. We look forward to the day you decide to do that at Motiv

You can for the most part still choose from the evening menu in the day time. All the starters and meze are on both menus. There may be just a few dishes that aren't always available in the day because they are still being prepped like the tanır lamb for example because it's slow cooked during the day ready for evening.
The reason we split the day and evening menus is because we recognise, being on a beach front, that some people will want burgers, pizzas and wraps during the day. Evenings is exclusively Turkish while in the day we've compromised to provide the type of snacks that people often like for a lunch at the beach. But we don't want to be serving those in the evenings.

My apologies to Nichola and Dogan for this belated review…
Having eaten on 3 occasions at the Motif restaurant during our recent stay in Calis both I and my wife would like to offer our congratulations to Nichola and Dogan and all the hard working staff at the Motif restaurant, the food was wonderful well presented and set in a nice pleasant venue (even got to see Keith at a nearby table) this place has all everything it takes to be very successful.
Well done to all at the Motif.

Me and the wife where in there last Tuesday and wondering if they could better Mozaic well with the food they certainly have every thing about it was great it was as good if not better and Nicola and Dogan where great hosts always asking how they can improve but if your expecting the old court yard feel this is not, from the modern sign on the front and the space inside its totally different but in a good way when the season is in full swing you will struggle to get a table we will be back next week and cant wait

It is about a third of the way along the prom from the busy end,under the Enya hotel.Well worth a try.

We were in last night and we can wholeheartedly recommend the Lamb with Honey and Spices, t'was to die for. They also serve a beer called Bomonti, which I had never tried before so it would have been rude not to. They were two varieties, one called filtered which is very close to Efes and one called Dark which is like a stout. I went out today to buy some for the fridge and found a third variety called Red Ale which is inbetween the other two. This is now mosty favourite beer of all ever time.

Ate here last night, lucky to get a table for the two of us. Very busy as you would expect.
Lovely welcome from both Nichola and Dogan (my apologies for taking you a bit by surprise Nichola ;D).
Everything about the place is superb. The surroundings, service and staff. Not to mention the food and wine.
Hope you have a very successful summer, though I think that goes without saying.
We'll see you in October :)

Visited last Tuesday for lunch ( Popped over on the boat taxi after a visit to Fethiye while on holiday in Oludeniz ) The food was very good. My partner also really liked the Photographs on the wall.

my partner and i arrive next monday for a 2 week break at the jiva beach resort but even though we love the all inclusive element we both like to eat out on occasions and will definately check this place out if we can get a seat.

Morning, all.
My eldest son and I just returned from Calis and had a fabulous meal at Motif last week; we also finally met Nichola after a few years on the CBF. The service was friendly, prompt and efficient, the atmosphere was warm and inviting and the food (chicken casserole) was stunning. Motif was the only restaurant that my son Elijah wanted to go back to for a second meal...he suggested it for our final meal in Turkey.
So when he became very ill (heat exhaustion) on our final night, where did I go for some comforting lentil soup and bread? Motif, of course.
Thanks to the wonderful team at Motif for looking after us so well; I'm back in three weeks with my other two children and will certainly revisit Motif a few times over the two weeks; I'm sure (the lamb in honey is at the top of my list).

Nice to see the place so full, Calis did seem very busy compared with Oludeniz, where we were staying. Then again Oludeniz seemed quieter last week than it was when I was over in May, I expected it to be busier.
