Even though this ditti doesn't really concern Calis I thought I'd share it with you anyway.
I work in a secondary school for pupils with vaying degrees of disabilites, both learning & physical. Our school has recently made links with a turkish mainstream school that specialises in the Arts. During May they invited a group of students to visit them for 10 days. It was an absolutely amazing time. We were made to feel like royalty. Trips were organised, concerts performed, art and music workshops taken place. In the evenings, in their own time the staff and pupils took us out to sample the local food and wine (for the adults you understand) Our pupils loved every minute. With so many barriers to communication - diffferent languages, plus some of our childrens disabillites, you would think communicating would have been a problem, but no, the turkish students and staff were so patient and inventive.
On leaving day one of my pupils left crying saying she didn't want to leave her new sisters and brothers behind. So well done Turkey for giving a group of English kids the best of times.
They are coming over to England soon so let's hope the weather improves and they love us Brits as much as we loved them.
