she told me she had to pay nearly 1800 lira to complete the gravestone

If you look at the original topic http://www.calis-beach.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=65991.msg457414#msg457414 you will see that we had raised 8,738.91 Turkish Lira by October 10th.

I am not going to express in words just how I feel about this topic.

I would however ask that the total amount donated for this cause, and the remaining surplus be made known here in CBF.

did not mean any harm keith. just thought that the money that was available should have been enough to cover all costs without getting linda involved. once again my apologies.

I know you didn't mate. I'm pretty confused as to how we have gone from an excess to extra money being needed.

She is in lees bar every day 12-2pm and is completely in the dark.
It would be nice if somebody from the 3 c's could speak to her.

Sorry if this offends anyone, but "clear the air with Linda"?

As I recall, when Stuart sadly passed away we understood that there was no money whatsoever for a headstone for a great charity supporter who had performed many times and helped raise a lot of money. We decided (with others) that this was not acceptable and we couldn't allow him to be buried without a headstone - and the appeal was set up.

We raised thousands of lira and as you can see from the photographs posted by Highlander, Stuart got his headstone. We stepped up without even being asked to.

I simply cannot imagine why we would need to clear any air with Linda.

I spoke with Linda at lunch time today.

Her preference for the balance is to have the 1,800tl she paid for additional marble work carried out at the grave and for the remainder to go on a plaque recording Stuart's outstanding charity work.

She did remark that the headstone would never have happened without CBF.
