Tourist tax
« on: November 11, 2019, 11:46:10 AM »
I have read an article saying that Turkey will be introducing a tourist tax from April 2020.
From what I have seen the amount  is dependant on the star rating of the hotel.
I can't find any information on private owned homes or apartments.
Does any one have any definite info on this.

Flight prices hiked, increased Visa charges and now "tourist tax"  What can they think of next I wonder? ( could be cutting off your nose to spite your face)!

They've got to cover the costs of the 'peace mission' against the Kurds. :(

could explain why the hotel we have frequented for years has put the prices up £2/person/night. There have been occasional price increases in the past, it would be interesting to see if other hotels have done the same for 2020.
Perhaps some of it might go towards improving the water quality off Calis Beach? The Turkish authorities have rated it BAD most of the year.

I admire your optimism.  :)
