Manager-less Fethiyespor managed to grind out a welcome draw this afternoon, away at Nazilli. With U-16 coach Ali Abbak in charge Fethiye earned only their 2nd point in their last 8 games. With 3 of the 4 clubs below them losing today Fethiye remain 14th in the league on 30 points, now 4 above the relegation zone.
It doesn't get any easier for Fethiye as they are at home next weekend to league leaders Istanbulspor who are currently 5 points clear at the top. They beat Fethiye 2-1 earlier in the season, but last year both matches between the sides ended as draws.

Two big away games coming up next month for Fethiyespor. They play 17th placed Tepecikspor and 15th placed Anadolu Uskudar. Win both those two and 36 points should be enough for Fethiye to preserve their Lig 1 status.  :)

Fethiyespor have appointed 42 year old Fatih Kavlak as their new Technical Director. A relatively inexperienced coach having only been in charge of Lig 2 side Hatayspor for 21 matches this season. He lost his job at the end of January following a poor run of form that saw Hatay win 1 out of 6 games. He will take charge of Fethiyespor on Sunday when they face league leaders Istanbulspor.

Fethiyespor gave it a good go against top of the table Istanbulspor this afternoon but still went down 2-1 to make it 9 games without a win. For the first 50 mins it looked like Fethiye were the league leaders with the visitors kept in their own half and Fethiye having several corners and free kicks. However Fethiye lacked the killer pass or cross and were made to pay twice when their defence was split open to allow Ibrahim Yilmaz to score after 56 and 69 mins.
Cemre Atmaca pulled one back for the hosts on 76 mins but the Istanbul defence held firm for the last 14 mins to take home the 3 points.
Fethiye remain 14th but with Fatih Karagumruk, the only team in the bottom 5 to win, they are now just 1 point above the bottom 3.
Fethiye are away to Tepecikspor from Istanbul next weekend, who are 2nd from bottom and 4 points behind Fethiye. Earlier in the season Fethiye won 1-0, which was also the same result when the teams last met in Istanbul 4 years ago.

Need a win from somewhere as it's looking like relegation, is it still a national league if Fethiye go down?

Last game of the season is away to Erzurumspor on April 29th.
Should Fethiyespor get relegated they would play in one of the 3 groups in Lig 3 where currently Muglaspor and Bodrumspor play. However Bodrumspor are 6 points clear at the top of their group so it looks like they will be playing Lig 2 football next season.

Need a win from somewhere as it's looking like relegation

And it got no better for Fethiyespor today as they were thumped 5-1 away in Istanbul against a 10 man Tepecikspor. The hosts opened the scoring after 20 mins with Halil Celik scoring.Emir Gokce pulled a goal back for Fethiye on the half hour mark and thats how it stayed till half time. Tepecik took the lead on 54 mins with top scorer Omer Yalcin netting his 7th goal of the season.10 mins later Tepecik went down to 10 men as central defender Iseyin got his 2nd yellow card.
However there was to be no comeback for Fethiye as Celik got his 2nd goal on 85 mins and Yalcin his 2nd in the 1st minute of injury time. With the last kick of the match Celik got his hat-trick,scoring from a free kick.
Fethiye remain 1 point above the relegation zone on 30 points, but now have 3 teams below them on 29 points,2 of whom play tomorrow.A home game next weekend against 7th placed Zonguldak. When the teams met earlier in the season the match ended 1-1.
