Specialist Leisure Group (SLG), which owns brands including Shearings, UKBreakaways.com, Wallace Arnold Travel, National Holidays and hotel chains Bay Hotels, Coast & Country and Country Living, said all tours, cruises, holidays and hotel breaks in the UK and abroad have been cancelled and would not be rescheduled. Shocked when I first heard of this. In common with a lot of my generation who has enjoyed their short "non drive element" coach breaks, they will be regrettably missed.

London Gateway Services, or Scratchwood as it used to be known, will suffer quite a loss of business when it reopens as it was the southern hub for Shearing's coaches.

For a company like this to go into administration after such a shirt time, raises questions.  I bet the shareholders have ensured that their finances are safe and secure.  Why weren’t their staff furloughed instead of being thrown on the scrap heap?

Because SLG has been struggling for a long while. Covid-19 has finished them off.

Exactly KKOB - and sadly the older the client demographic the less chance for the company to survive.
