For traditional it is also a good experience to visit a lokanta where all the food is on show in glass cabinets and you can point at various dishes and try one or more. For an easy to find and great quality one to start with, try the Megri Lokantasi, just round the corner from the main street in Fethiye where Finans & Garanti banks are. If natural yoghurt is ok with you (it wasn't with me prior to living in Turkey), forget pointing through the glass, ask for Iskender kebap - it's a lamb dish served on bread with yoghurt and tomato - as I am writing this I am aware it sounds horrible
it isn't at all - and theirs is lovely.
If you can't find it, ask anyone for the Duck Pond, which is next to the Megri. The Duck Pond is notable for it's duck pond and sadly unimaginative and bland menu.
And if you aren't confused enough already, make sure you find the Megri Lokantasi, there is a Megri restaurant too -and good though that is, it's not the one you are looking for
