With the spectacles put on most notably by Sydney and Beijing, I was sure London 2012 was going to be a cheap, amateur disaster. I had no interest in it at all and just wanted it to start so it could finish and go away. Korea flags fiasco on day 1 showed what was afoot.
Well, we've watched it every evening and from opening ceremony till today, the last day, it has been fabulous.
Well done Team GB and all those who planned it and worked at it to make it a brilliant success.

However every night I have watched and enjoyed.. They have done us proud.

We have always watched the Olympics and were really looking forward to them being in the UK. Well from start to finish they did not disappoint, we have been glued to the telly for 2 weeks
Well done to all our competitors who were egged on by the massive home support.
All around the country pubs and clubs have benefited from the supporters who came out to celebrate and to encourage their local heroes.

It's been amazing! A fabulous event that's lifted us all. As a nation we have raised the bar, our medal count is commendable. Every single competitor has given their all. The lottery funding has provided much needed training facilities and the results are evident. I'm bursting with pride. Well done everyone!

Agreed - it has made us all feel proud - irrespective of politics / race / religion - if you are British you suddenly want to "stick your chest out" (no quips please :) )

We have found it absolutely amazing and we are very proud of our GB Team - fanatastic to put the Great back into Britain - back to the soaps next week :( not so compelling viewing lol ;)

From the opening ceremony to last night's closing ceremony I've been absolutely hooked. I've laughed, cried and shouted along with millions of others and really surprised myself how emotional I've been.
Well done and thank you to all the athletes who took part, everyone involved in the organisation, volunteers and armed forces. It's been a brilliant two weeks! ;D

Still being off work nursing a broken foot and climbing the walls, the Olympics was not only a truly amazing event, it has helped me keep my sanity over the last couple of weeks ! - Well done to all, athletes, organisers, performers, and a massive well done to the volunteers !, they say pride is a sin, but proud to be British the past two weeks !!! :) :)

Agreed, what a wonderful 2 weeks, my daughter was lucky enough to be in the Olympic stadium on super Saturday & she said how emotional it was. 8) :)

I agree - it was fantastic and made even better by the BBC and the little red button. Who knows in four years we might have holograms of the athletes running through our lounge :)
