Title: Turkish bank statement for residency app?

I read somewhere yesterday( but cant find it now) the bank statement showing sufficient funds has to be a Turkish bank account, not UK. Is anyone able to confirm whether this is correct or was it more panic postings that seem to be appearing in other places more often. I have both types account so not a problem for me but I have 2 friends about to apply who only have UK accounts.

I went to the local HSBC in Fethiye and they printed off a special statement for the purpose, I guess other banks wold do the same.

Some friends of ours are currently applying for residency and using Yakup Yilmaz to help them.
They are having some issues transferring money to their new Turkish account but he told them a statement from their UK account would be fine if they can't sort it before their appointment in Muğla.   :)
