Title: The Prom from End to End
Post by: IanK on May 02, 2015, 12:42:49 PM
I was tempted to use the title "Drive by Shooting on the Prom" but though that might have been a little alarmist.

Anyway, this was shot last week (on the 27th) around 11am. I angled the camera to the right so you can see all the bars and restaurants and how they are getting ready for the season.

I've also shot a new version of the original Fethiye to Calis ride that I'll post in a week or two.

Let me know what you think.

Ian
I thought that was brilliant, an original, inventive piece of photography, complete with music.
When you veered to the left down the path I thought we'd crashed.!!!
Thank you, that was great.

Thanks for that Ian, very interesting.  It all looks so deserted like an empty wild west town, look forward to seeing it all soon.

and while you're about the area on your cycle  ;)  with camera firmly mounted, please turn left at the Surf Cafe and continue up to the Angel Bar with the forest on your right, so I can see the progress of the longed for paving of the road - that is, if all those steam rollers will allow!  ;D

I mean, if you're coming from the Prom end, with the sea on your left, turn right right, not left at the Surf Cafe, or you'll end up in the sea, no good for the camera :(

I'd say from Sat Restaurant to where the prom veers to the right at Obens is around 1.25 miles.

Thanks for all the positive feedback.

Back in the UK now but I will do some more when back over in a few weeks time so the suggested routes may be done then - (apart from turning left at the Surf Café).

May video the ride from Sunset Beach Club up through Koca Calls and round to the Sensatori.

Kevin, a little out of my range I'm afraid - but I do know someone who's idea of a good day out includes cycling from Calis to Oludeniz (and back).

No, but funnily enough, I did see a chap riding a scooter in Fethiye the other week wearing a full wetsuit AND flippers.

Wonder if it is the same guy?

There's a chap regularly cycles UP the Fethiye to Ovacik hill in a wetsuit. He wears a jacket on top if it's chilly ......

excellent video and surprising how much has been done in the 3 weeks since it was made. If you had carried on past surf café, there is a new place opening up called Zentara, looks like it is going to be excellent if they get moving to finish it  :). Nice to see something being done not cheap and cheerful to get open, just hope it doesn't cost them too much lost trade
