Turkish Mobile

Hi can anyone tell me why i cant use my Turkish mobile over in UK should i have had it put on roam,you must be able to use them outside Turkey if so could i change it from over here ,or could someone over there do it for me, i was looking at playing a joke on someone.

If its Turkcell then you need to have the roaming activated to use outside Turkey. You can do this by visiting their website and using their online services centre, here...

Hi Lance,
unfortunately, unless you set up to use "international roaming" before you leave Turkey, you will not be able to use it here. Are you on Turkcell? If so it may be worth your while to set up an on line account next time you are over and you will then have the option of logging on from the uk and even topping up your phone (as long as you remember to buy some credits to bring back home with you.)
Not sure about other networks.

Hi thanks for reply but it wont let me in without password it says send sms to 2222to get password but phone not sending from UK any suggestions.

Afraid your stuck until you get back to Turkey and set up a password.

Lance, as philrose has mentioned unless you have set up your on line account in Turkey ( by sending 2222 to get your password) you will not be able to log on. You will not be able to send a message from here on your Turkish mobile because it is not set up for international calls. Bit of a b*mmer. I know how frustrating it is because I didn't set up an online account for mine until last year when we were over in Calis.
The only solution to sending a message to someone in Turkey is either use your uk mobile phone or if you know someone in Turkey who will send it for you on their phone.

ps. you can also try looking at the numerous sites that offer cheap international calls to either a Turkish land line or mobile.

Thanks all for replies the annoying thing is i only set it up three weeks ago with new sim and said to turkcell shop i wanted it to cover international no problem he said its done or i have been .

  you have been, they did the same to me last year with 1.000 free contours,[^] but only to 1 number, and in Turkey. If you want to play a joke then text them from a mates mobile.
