Topping up Turkcell online

Just 2 quickie questions re topping up a Turkcell mobile online


1 Can you use any  bank card or must it be a Turkish issued one

2 Can you top it up back home or can it only be done in Turkey

I think I am right in saying that as long as you have registered your phone in your own name and that you have set up a password to access the Turkcell website while you are not actually in Turkey, then yes, you can use any card (in your name) to top up your phone on line.
I did this not so long ago and have been able to use my card to top up credits on line with Turkcell.

I keep getting conflicting reports on this-has anyone topped up online in Turkey using a non Turkish credit card?

I tried but you need a 3-D secure code from your UK bank, when phone bank to find out what this is they had no idea, so will stick to going to the shop in Fethiye to get topped up

Another question - If I ask my friend in Turkey to buy a top up card and email me the numbers will it be possible to top up my phone which I mistakingly took home with me. It will be over three months before I return since last topping up. Many thanks Mary

Did it through our finans bank account no problems.
