Kalos Tapas Bar - Kayaköy
« on: June 15, 2015, 12:01:07 PM »
Yesterday we discovered a relatively new place in Kayaköy, the Kalos Tapas Bar and enjoyed a selection of Cuban and Iranian tapas.

The setting is lovely, well designed and tastefully decorated and immediately on entering the sense of peace and space made you feel like you could easily chill and relax here for a couple of hours. There are also some private rooms for eating inside the old houses that make up the property

It turns out the couple who painted the mosaic mural at our restaurant worked the bar and the garden and the Iranian chef who came to our table and explained the different tapas was lovely.

They also do breakfast and are closed on Mondays.

It's down a side turning on the left as you come into Kaya from the Hisarönü road, before you get to Poseidon. It used to be called Sarniç, some of you may remember it there.

I should just flag up that it's a very simple concept. You just order the tapas platter, you can't choose from a wider selection. I didn't think to check if it changes daily. It was 29tl pp. The liver pate was absolutely delicious and I ate both mine and Doğans.

I can't find a FB page for it and don't know if there is a web site. I do know they plan to create 10 rooms from the houses, so probably by next year it will be another boutique hotel for Kaya.

If it's formerly the Sarnic, you take the left-turn beside the well as the road gets narrow just before you get to Bulent's.
