new passport query
« on: November 21, 2015, 11:36:32 AM »
I have been told so many different stories on this so I was wondering whether anyone has a definite answer. Although the info states application has to be done as first time application, this seemed to cause problems with new yabanci kimlik numbers being issued. Have also heard others still applied as renewal online with no problems.

I was told yesterday that it has changed again and now if you have a new passport you have to go to Mugla to register it before you can apply to renew residency? Can't find anything official in writing about this. I have new passport as of last month and have to renew residency anytime from next week so was going to just apply as renewal but don't want to get it wrong.

Has anyone been in the same situation recently and was application accepted please?

I am going to see him when I need to renew but wanted to get as much ready as possible. the thought of having to go mugla next week before I can apply has thrown a spanner in my plans  :)

2 months ago, my friend was renewing residency, but, like you, had a new passport & did have to go to Mugla. Ok, it could have all changed in the intervening period   ;)

did he apply as first time to get appointment or just go with passport then apply after? I am so tempted to just apply as renewal, if its wrong they will undoubtedly contact me to go then :-\

Is there any way you can wait to make your renewal until the new office is open in Fethiye, or does your residency expire before then?
At least then it's not such a trek for the appointment.

We renewed our residency using Koray Atak in July, we had new new passports but did not have to go to Mugla, Gunesh,Korays wife phoned Mugla to make sure.

My residency runs out end of January so don't really want to risk waiting to see if new office does open in December  :)

Your new passport is not a problem on renewal. You will not need to go to Mugla.

Just post photocopy of your passport in documents file.

This is the exact answer.
