Turkey May Soon Run Out of Gas

I don't know how much credence to put on the story in the link on Scunner's opening post as it comes from a source with which I am not familiar. It is certainly true that Turkey is highly dependent on Russia for gas supplies - 60% of the total - and I believe that Erdogan ad Davutoglu are urgently seeking alternative supplies from Qatar and Azerbaijan. But these alternatives cannot fill the gap if Russia switches off the tap. However, I haven't seen any commentator yet that thinks it likely that Russia will actually take this action at present (although it did so in the past in relation to Ukraine). No need to panic yet - probably.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere there are talks going on to get gas from Quatar, or could have been Kuwait...Middle eastern anyway.

I think these posts are completely relevant and we all need to be aware of what's going on.
