Access denied !!!
« on: February 07, 2015, 12:12:02 PM »
Quite surprised that Max (our Jack Russell) was denied access to the new FIG shop today by 'the manager' ('tie it up outside' - no way !!!) Especially as we were in there with him buying stuff on opening day !!! Hey ho, 3Cs and Animal Aid in future methinks !!!

Put a sign on the door then (as UK shops do) and you won't be 'troubled' !!!!

The FIG guys have worked extremely hard to open the new shop and I am sure you can appreciate with it being a shop with clothes etc in the no animals are allowed in.. I am sure this stands for a the other clothes shops in fethiye.. As for a sign on the door.. I don't believe I have seen any anywhere else?  It would certainly put me off buying if I knew animals were allowed inside.

I would be very surprised if the majority of shops in the UK had a sign on the door.

But the incident didn't happen in the UK. It happened in Turkey where things are, naturally, different.

Being dog friendly is often used as a marketing tool. I like to see it in hotel descriptions where they often say "Pets welcome". I like it because it informs me that I need to find somewhere else to stay   :)

But what is the norm "in Rome"? I don't recall seeing many dogs in Migros or shops in general over there?

I certainly wouldn't think of taking Max in a food shop. My point was that there was no objection on opening day, just be consistent ! But as I said, there are dog friendly alternatives   :)
