Thank you so much for all your support. I will keep you all informed as progress is made . I will know more after my next visit to the village...hopefully tomorrow or next Sunday. We have had a wonderful offer from a lovely man who has said he will pay for a tarpaulin as a temporary cover for the roof until such times as a new roof can be put on.. A very generous offer but I won't name him in case he prefers privacy but he knows who he is. Bless you my friend and thank you for the lovely words regarding my daughter's problem .

I have to tell members that very shortly after hubblebubble's update I received a message for a member offering more support.

I have since received a very generous donation to my paypal account from said member and have passed it on to Turkey.

So very, very many thanks to kevin3. It was extremely kind of you  :)

What do members think about setting up a just giving page for the boys. Or is that something that the family would not wish on privacy grounds.

Just a thought  :)

As the family are not privy to cbf does it matter, as long as any money raised goes through Embrace, who the family already know are helping them. So many of us have been touched by this family I am sure we can raise a decent amount to help with their new home.

My apologies echogirl1 - I should have said - a just giving page on facebook.

Of course CBF members are extraordinarily generous but it just seems to me that this tragic case may be just too big.

I also wondered if we could galvanised local builders, building material suppliers, etc. I have made tentative inquiries but it's very difficult from so far away and I am conscious of being considered a foreigner if that makes sense.

I hope this comes across as intended.

PS I do have had a crazy idea  :-[

With reference to the amputation, I'm not sure if he is looking at a single leg amputation or both, but if it helps, my husband plays amputee football for Great Britain and they have competed against the Turkish national team on a number of occasions. You might wish to look at some of the pictures online of them playing the sport as it is really inspirational. The link to the GB squad is www.theeafa.co.uk and the Turkish team can be found online with a write up on Wikipedia. There are plenty of films on Youtube of them playing and the youth development squads work with lots of young kids so again you should be able to show them how they are dealing with their limb loss.
