The Rugby World Cup Fund Raiser
« on: August 14, 2015, 18:53:19 PM »
You may need to get a cuppa or a jarge gin and tonic right about now but please stay with it because it's for a good cause.

(Lots of new members since we last did something like this, so please feel free to join in).

Now that the 3C’s Committee and their helpers are taking a well deserved break, or what passes for a break in their case, I thought it was time we tried to raised some money for the children.

Part 1:

Following the huge success of the Football World Cup supporters bus, I have hired one for the Rugby World Cup.

Tickets are £ 1 each.

Your ticket entitles you to “sponsor” one of the participating teams.

I have randomly allocated the numbers 1 to 20 to the teams taking part. You choose a number and the corresponding team is yours.

If your team doesn’t reach the Knock-Out Stages, you will have to forfeit £10.

If your team gets to the quarter  finals, it will cost you £ 9

If your team loses in the semi finals, the forfeit will be £ 8

If your team is runner-up, you will be asked to donate £ 7.

If your team wins the competition, you win £ 10.

Everyone following so far ? – yes – excellent.

Now for Part 2:

Alongside your team sponsorship, I will be asking you to support Scotland – yes I know but it will raise more for the kids than supporting England. So here how this part works.

If Scotland do not reach the group stages (highly unlikely) you will be asked to put £ 7 into the kitty,

If Scotland get knocked out in the Quarter Finals it will be £ 6.

£ 5 into the kitty if we lose in the Semi Finals, £ 4 if we finish fourth, £ 3 for third, £ 2 if we are runners-up and £ 1 if we win the whole thing.

You can take part in Part 1, Part 2 or both but I really would like at least 20 in each.

There are only 20 teams in Part 1 so book early to avoid disappointment  :)

'H' put me in for a number,  will go for part 1 and part 2.
Totally baffled as usual but if it raises a few quid then all is forgiven.

I am not a Rugby Fan but Phil is, so put us in for the two parts H.
As usually I have no idea what is going on, but never mind it is a good cause.

Well H, as a supporter of the other code of rugby and not having a clue how this works I should stay well clear!    ;)

But put me down for both parts please as I know it will be worth it.
