Restaurant Protocol?
« on: July 28, 2007, 16:12:50 PM »
Am I alone thinking that in the evenings when frequenting a restaurant it's customary for males to wear something from the waist up, even if it's just a T-shirt. Right now, I am sitting in a restaurant, and there's a table of 4 - males in just swimming shorts and 2 ladies in bikinis.

Just strikes me as total disrespect for other diners.

Anyone have any views?

:)Totally agree, theres a time and place for everything, and dining is not appropriate in swimwear, its as bad as going to the shops in pyjamas, if not worse. ;) They wont allow it in Bella Mamas and I think they are right. ;)

i think at lunch-times the restaurants are easy going on what you wear but for evening i think there should be some sense of dress code

Totally agree, its enough to put you off your meatballs:D
Last thing we wish to see is a fat hairy belly hanging over a skimpy pair of speedos whilst trying to eat our meal.
And as for some of the women :-\ is the only suspension available the table[?]How do they manage to eat at arms length :o

I also agree; it is fine to be 'topless' on the beach but it is only common decorum to be fully dressed when in a restaurant. Shirts are for wearing, not fashion accessories.
