Does anyone have any info on the boat to Gocek.
Does it go every day?
What time does it set off from Fethiye?
what time does it return?
How much is it?
Can anyone recommend a nice restaurant in Gocek to eat?

Thanks
Paul

Can't answer most of those Paul, but for lunch/light meals I doubt you could beat the West Cafe Bistro - absolutely top quality, presentation and nice location just back from the sea.

Prices are relatively good for Gocek, and the coffee is fantastic.

Paul, the boat to Gocek takes at least a couple of hours, you can get it from the water taxi point in Calis, or at least you can on Sundays and you can visit the small market in Gocek. To be honest the trip gets a bit boring, a 4 hour round trip will make you wish you had taken the bus !

I think it was £5 each when we went 2 years ago. As we find the 12 island boat trip too long, the trip to Gocek is a nice alternative.

:)Depends if you dont mind sitting on the boat for a few hours, but if you hav'nt been, I suppose its worth a day out, boat trip, lunch, and market in one go. ;)

I went to Gocek in April & really liked it but we had a hire car.
We are in Ovacik so would want to get boat from Fethiye preferably.
I just don't fancy getting on a Dolmus with a load of other people in the middle of August.
Also I deffinitely won't be going on a Sunday. I get fed up with the markets within the first couple of stalls. Been there seen that & got the t shirts (literally) so far as Turkish markets go.
Thanks for the replies.

It's not worth going to Gocek for the market anyway.  It's very small, more just for the locals to get their fruit etc.
It's certainly worth a visit though, the marina is a lovely spot to while away a few hours.

The boat to Gocek for Sunday market is a nice change, it costs 6 gbp,s roughly takes a couple of hours leaves about 11.30am you get to Gocek there is time to look around the market which is ok nothing special but also time for a nice look round and lunch most restaurants are ok but personnaly abit more expensive than Fethiye. The boat leaves around 4 ish and on the way back stops for a swim which is nice to round up your day.

We visited Gocek in June, however we drove.  But we did have a nice platter of food and cappuccino in a restaurant I think was called 'Blue'.  The staff were excellent the minute we sat down very attentive, handed the children paper and colouring pencils, offered to take our photo etc.  They were generally a really nice bunch of guys and the price was good also for the service and the quality of food we received.
