New Mosque
« on: January 26, 2019, 11:29:31 AM »
I haven’t managed to get out since June but gather a new mosque has been built - near The Pelin? I have a place near the cemetery/ old upside doiwn bridge. I haven’t seen anything much about it but was wondering if anyone can tell me exactly where it is and how loud the call to prayer is! I’m hoping to be able to get a good night’s sleep when I come again!

They don't call to prayer through the night.

Our Apartment is near the tennis courts/971 sokak. There is wasteland opposite the tennis courts that's been left overgrown for the past few years. We often wonder what will become of it  :- ???

Maybe they’ll switch it off to please the British people who chose to holiday/live in  a Muslin country.

We stay at the Tugay two months every year, the next time being May/June.
Whilst I love to hear the call to prayer, our room is really near the mosque, and we’re hoping the very early morning call isn’t too loud.
Never thought being slightly deaf would be an advantage!

Surely as Turkey is a Muslim country they are allowed to build a mosque where they choose.

I can just imagine the reaction in the UK if a Muslim community complained about a church being built near them.
