Damp seal
« on: August 09, 2019, 07:43:44 AM »
Morning all,
Apparently we have a damp patch on one of our bedroom walls. Our neighbour said it hasn't increased in the last few months so when we're there this month we will look at buying damp seal. We've used it at home and found it effective. Failing that we'll have it checked. My question is, where is the best place to buy this product and can anyone recommend someone who can treat damp if need be. Thanks  :)

I would have thought that finding the source of the damp and curing it would be your priority.

Most of the building suppliers and hardware shops stock dampseal products.

I agree with KKOB you need to find the source, could be an outside tap, water leaking down the wall from guttering or even a leak inside the wall I have had this problem in the past. Dont just paint a sealer on the wall as you will only move the problem somewere else

We had a damp patch in a living room wall that turned out to have been caused by a tiny hole in the aircon drainage pipe from the unit on the first floor.

Bayram the elec/plummer is good at detecting where damp, leaks originate from. Over the years has helped me no end. He is reliable, does what is needed, speaks good English and honest with what he charges.
