Title: How much for a Sorba?
Post by: scareylady on August 24, 2009, 11:50:15 AM
Hi Guys

We are thinking of having a sorba fitted so that we can be toastie warm during winter visits.  I wondered if anyone on here has bought one recently and how much it costs?

We would just need a smallish one as the house is not very big.

Many Thanks

Lesley

They're called Sobas, or a Soba, and they start at 100TL for a very basic one and range up to 600 TL for a good quality one with double oven. You should be looking at paying somewhere around 250 TL for a decent size and quality.

Good quality, dried, chopped hardwood is around 200 TL per tonne.

I cut down trees, I skip and jump
I love to press wild flow'rs
I put on women's clothing
And hang around in bars
     He cuts down trees...
     He's a lumberjack...

I cut down trees, I wear high heels
Suspendies and a bra
I wish I'd been a girlie
Just like my dear papa
     He cuts down trees...
     He's a lumberjack...

Tinks, aren't you glad you didn't go on that walk with me !

:D ;):D

Hi all
We purchased a small Soba last January and it is/ was great.
We could of got Cast Iron but instead bougt a modern model imported. It cost 600 L.
Great, living flame, only nicks on at night , whole house warm.
Downside. No matter what fuel u get ( I know the stories) you have to be ready to clean all the flu pipes at least once per month and this will be very dirty. Dont let it put you off, they are great.

Regards
Sorry tried to send a pic.
Tink if you dont mind will send to U and maybe you could post it( Please)
