Post by: willow on September 13, 2009, 17:52:52 PM: HERE'S ONE FOR CRABBiT, CROWN GREEN BOWLiNG CLUB iN CALiÃž TO OPEN iN NOVEMBER.US NORTHERN LADS HAVE TRiED OUT THE FLAT GREEN BOWLiNG AT THE OYKUN HOTEL, BUT FOR US TOO EASY AND BORiNG. 30 MEMBERS ALREADY, UK BOWLiNG CO. HAVE SHOWN iNTEREST ALREADY AND WE HOPE TO PLAY TEAMS FROM UK.THE GREEN WiLL BE GRASS, SAME AS THE PUTTiNG GREENS ON THE GOLF COURSES iN ANTALYA.iF ANYONE OUT THERE iS LOOKiNG FOR A NEW HOBBY AND WANTS TO GiVE iT A GO PLEASE CONTACT US.WE ALSO WANT THiS TO BE VERY SOCiAL WiTH A FEW DRiNKS AFTER GAMES.

I'm captain of our local team & would love to keep playing as all greens are closing down here this week. Just floodlit competitions left.

May I suggest that a fuller picture is given, i.e. location, costs, will the green be open everyday etc.

Post by: willow on October 01, 2009, 10:12:37 AM: The club is run by the members and anyone who wants a game, needs to come along with a member who will provide some bowls.Or you can just come on chance and hope there is someone there.The cost is 10ytl to play for non- members.The green will be open from Dec.We want to encourage new bowlers to take up the game.

Charging them 10 Lira a time will not entice anybody to try, at our club (Premier League champions once again :D) if somebody who has never played the game before comes and tries out, we charge them the grand sum of "nothing"
If they like the game and decide they wish to carry on playing then they can join the club and pay the same as the other members.

Don't forget, in the uk. clubs have been established for years, out here is a totally different thing.

Post by: willow on October 12, 2009, 17:25:51 PM: The new greens are not far from the pelin Hotel in Caliş.The location is in a beautiful setting surrounded by mountains.We will be open for bowling from 1st dec.We have a couple coming from Kalkan tomorrow, who are native South Africans, so word is spreading.So come on everyone and have a look at the work going on, and have a coffee with us!
