Title: Just when we thought it was safe...
Post by: Cadbury on December 01, 2009, 19:48:42 PM
Two more burglaries probably carried out last night. The two burglaries were on two villas in the same complex behind us. TVs and DVD Players taken. Cannot be exact that they happened last night as they were discovered by the maintenance man who has not visited the complex for at least a week.

This is the problem in the winter here. Most of the (holiday) apartment owners go back to the U.K expecting the maintanence companies to keep to their contracts.

Any news on the location of these villas? I'm just a bit concerned as I received notification from my villa PC.

Could just be a coincidence because the power does trip occasionally.

Thank you for the assurance, although I do feel sorry for those affected. Please does any one have any contacts or suggestions for a local security company that can install and possibly monitor an alarm system?

Definitely not safe yet.
Unfortunately there was another burglary at a house near the Cadianda Rd yesterday afternoon (Friday) in broad daylight.
A tall thin man with a moustache and wearing a denim jacket and jeans was seen hanging about in the area earlier maybe not connected but possibly worth making a mental note.

Sorry, but I hope that when these burglars get caught, they fall down a very long marble staircase in the 'police station' if you get my gist.  I am getting very annoyed/worried about these happenings.

where was the house near Cadianda road ? the reasone i ask is that we have a house off the Cadianda road and were done twice this year, very worrying
Also just a note to say the first time we got burgled was the end of June and we have still not been paid out by the insurance company, they keep asking for reciepts, manuals, gaurantees, the Tapu, they then lost all the paperwork, we are having the same problem with the second burglary
With regard to alarms we have fitted a wireless alarm system (audio) and are in the process of trying out a CCTV system connected to the internet, so we can monitor from UK

Just reading Cadavanti's post and note the difficulties he is having with the insurance co. I am assuming this is a Turkish co (?) and for this reason our Uzumlu property is insured by a uk firm. The cost is £22 per month. If anyone wants to know more please pm me.
