Let's get this straight, I'm not saying this...

Spotted on another forum and I can't find link via Google so not sure where it's taken from.
Love it or hate it, plenty of people do :)

I'm surprised that it isn't a Daily Mail article. They love knocking Turkey.

It is taken from Turkey Traveller 11 Jan 2011.

I thought the accusation of Bingo was a little unfair.

Let's be a bit objective here.
This is one mans personal opinion of what is realistically a holiday destination. The kind of destination that can be found in just about any European country.
If you want "traditional Turkey" then research for it. Likewise with Spain, Greece, etc etc etc. If you want shops, restaurants, bars, nightlife and neon then this also is easy to find and just as easy to avoid.
It must suit many thousands otherwise the hotels and apartments would be all but empty.
I dislike immensely when a personal opinion is banded about as what everyone will feel when they get there.
During our holiday our friends spent a day in Hisaronu and thoroughly enjoyed it. We all passed through it on the way to OluDeniz and Mrs Pops and I thought that it may not be our cup of tea. Despite this, I certainly wouldn't try to put anyone off going there.
Having said that, it seems that the adage that any publicity can be good publicity, coupled this kind of writing, may well actually "encourage" some holiday makers to consider Hisaronu as a destination.
Bit of a stuffed shirt if you ask me.

In my opinion Hisaranu cannot be classed as much of a rubbish destination as parts of Spain or the Canary Islands, perhaps the original writer of this article has not travelled far!!!

In fairness I cant see that the "Worst holiday destination" title came from the author - that appears to have been added. It certainly doesn't appear on the page linked to above.
We have a bit of banter with our H members but I have nothing against Hisaronu and know many people like it. My wife's boss booked a week there last year having never been to Turkey - they are of 'mature' age and I knew for a fact they would hate it. They loved it! And booked to go back again.

We prefer Hissy. Main reason is we have never felt as at home in any other hotel as we have at Pine Hills.
The place went seriously downhill and we tried other places. Nice enough hotels but always that little bit missing. The friends we made that first visit to the hotel.
The first barman we met many of you will know as Charlie from the Nil. On our last night he turned to us and said he was so pleased to have known us. I left with tears streaming down my face.
We have watched the boys mature, do their army and move on but still get the same welcome from them no matter where they work.
The town is loud and brash but a walk up the street after dinner is a nightly must.
Would recommend the Ottoman restaurant for good
turkish fare.
