Title: Selling apartment info
Post by: marshy on May 17, 2016, 06:29:02 AM
Hi All,
Around a month ago we accepted an offer on our apartment.
We are told the client is arranging a mortgage..
Am I getting too twitchy too soon??
As far as I know the estate agent has received no deposit and I haven't seen any contract from the estate agent yet?

Many thanks,
Phil.

Buyers getting a mortgage shouldn't worry you, although it does make the process fairly lengthy. However, with no deposit and no contract so far, I'd consider your property to be very much still for sale.

Yes Marshy I am back from trips and will have to wait till Saturday for the next one.

A month is a long time to arrange a mortgage over there. A week is usually more than enough?

Tell the buyer you've got someone else interested, but happy to take it off the market if they put down a deposit.  Turkish mortgages are never (that I've heard of) 100% so they must have some cash kicking about.  Might let you see their true intentions, one way or the other...

Panic over nothing by the sound of things.
Been informed money is in my bank as of today.
Mixed emotions. .but onwards and upwards! .
Thanks for the advice.
