10th May Open Gardens

Yes the weekend is here, the sun is out and tomorrow 4 gardens are open.
1pm till 4pm are the opening times and if you haven't bought your tickets you can get them on the gate of the first house you go to. If anyone needs directions please pm me.
All plants and refreshments on sale are only 1tl so why not pop in the car and come and visit beautiful Uzumlu for an afternoon out.

Hi Fi - good luck, hope it all goes really well.  Wish we were there.....I expect the gardens are really green after all the rain Uzumlu has 'enjoyed' (!).  If any-one takes any photos......we'd love you to share them !

where are the 4 gardens?

3 in Uzumlu & 1 in Icirikoy.You will need a car or a friend with a car.
To find the first house and get tickets and a map, come in to Uzumlu,along the dual carraigeway and at the side of the red Petrol Ofis garage turn right.The road runs up the side of the garage. Signs from there.
If you miss that house follow signs to PTT and directly opposite the PTT turn right and again follow the signs to one of the other gardens.
Starts at 1pm till 4pm. Entry 2tl for all 4 houses.
Plants are being delivered as I speak and the sun is shining.

Thats not a good enough excuse Calvin you will have time to look at a garden between each of his laps!!
Hope they fitted lights to his car as it will probably be dark before he finishes.

Just got back form the open gardens,what a good day we have had so many ideas to be had,big thnkyou Fi for pulling up some of you pretty pink plants for me do they have a name.Also we would like to say a big thankyou for the owners of all the gardens for letting us in to enjoy them.

What an outstanding success.
We have had a fabulous day and from the feedback we had,everyone enjoyed the gardens and picked up some cheap plants, homemade cakes and lots of different ideas.
We raised 157.50tl for FIG, 236.75tl for the cement factory fund and 236.75tl for the Fethiye Times gardening club.
Our friend Yusuf from the Gocek garden centre brought along loads of plants as did Brian from Village garden in Nif.
I would like to formally thank all the people who opened their gardens today, all the helpers who manned gates, made tea, coffee, made cakes, donated plants etc we could not have done it without you.
Special message for the Crinklies from Lynda & Mario, you are to be renamed the Smoothies

who came up with the idea.
Once again thanks to all who came and we hope you all had a great time.
I think you could well see this idea mushroom in the future.
