Dog Welfare at Gemiler Beach
« on: May 19, 2010, 20:31:59 PM »
I visited Gemiler today and there are new puppies at the main restaurant.
Their mother was tied up in the car park. She appeared dehydrated and there was no water bowl in sight.
I raised this with a member of the restaurant staff. He informed me the mother was tied up because she was aggressive towards customers who handled her pups and that the lack of water was an oversight.

The dog was provided with water and she drank several large containers immediately.

Please wouuld anyone visiting Gemiler spare a moment to ensure that the dog has drinking water available, and if not, draw this to the attention of the restaurant staff

They are there obviously to be a tourist attraction Heather and once they get past the 'Puppy' stage they will disappear.  Mummy dog by then will have had another litter to replace them!  Sickening!!

Perhaps the next person to visit could recommend that they put the pups back with their Mother which is where they belong.  When are these restaurants going to realise we've cottoned on the this 'tourist attraction'?

There's always a fresh batch of 'green' tourists who WILL fall for it though.  Sadly
