I had a bottle of Strongbow in a seafront bar the other day. Just as a change from Efes.
Very refreshing, but at 6.50 Tl for a 275ml bottle, by my reckoning about £5.10 a Pint, not something I will be doing very often!
And usually it is only the price of Efes that I complain about!:D[V
OK, there appears to be a good few arguments and misconceptions about Cider on this topic.
You cannot get a pear cider, there is no such thing. No matter what the label calls it, it is a Perry.
Oh, and for those who think and state Bulmers is "pop" - who on earth do you think makes Strongbow? ( answer - Bulmers )[

Turkish cider is not made in the traditional "British" cider way. It is generally made from filtered and refined Apple juice. This is then chaptalized and then fermented. The addition of sugar before fermentation serves only to increase the final alcohol content, but does nothing to increase the depth of flavour: rather, it diminishes it. A Lot!
I suppose in the end it is very much "Each to his own taste"
