Paying the duty on a campervan
« on: March 04, 2013, 17:14:02 PM »
Hi,

I've been travelling to Turkey for the last 12 years in my campervan. For the last 3 years we have rented a cottage in Keciler in the Kaya valley. We are in our late 70's and the driving has become a chore instead of a pleasant drive.

We plan to sell the van when we return to the UK in May but a Brit who's resident in Fethiye has shown an interest in buying the van.

The van is worth about £15,000 sterling.

I would welcome any info on Duty payable, how to go about paying the duty and any other useful info or personal experiences.

I can't spend long on a computer at a time as my eyesight is not good so I apologize if this has already been covered

Regards

DonM

I would have a look at the possibility of completing the sale outside of Turkey. That way you wouldn't have to get involved in any matters of duty etc and the purchaser can handle all the necessary paperwork locally.
