New manager syndrome worked for Fethiyespor with new boss Akif Basaran guiding Fethiye to a 1-0 victory this afternoon. In truth it was a somewhat turgid affair with only a few half chances and it took 70 mins for Fethiye to score against the league's worst defence when Aytac Deniz netted his 2nd goal of the season. However a win is a win and Fethiye move up to 11th in the league with 16 points.
Away to the Black Sea for Fethiye when they take on the Black Diamonds of Zonguldak who were promoted from Lig 3 last season via the play offs. They currently sit 3 points and 3 places above Fethiye in the league table.

Fethiyespor gained a creditable 1-1 draw this afternoon against Zonguldak Komurspor. The game came to life in the 2nd half when Zonguldak opened the scoring with a penalty 2 mins after the restart but Bekir Ozan Has equalised, also from the penalty spot on the hour mark, and thats the way it stayed. That point keeps Fethiye in 11th place on 17 points.
A home game next weekend when Fethiye entertain Anadolu Uskudar from Istanbul.Anadolu are 5 places and 6 points behind Fethiye.Looks like it will be a low scoring match as Anadolu are the leagues lowest scorers with 8 goals in 14 matches and Fethiye have only scored 7 in their last 10 games.

As promised it was a low scoring game today as Fethiye drew at home 0-0 with Anadolu Uskudar.Despite Fethiye lining up in a 4-4-2 formation it was the visitors from Istanbul who had the better of the first half.Fethiye improved somewhat after the break but could still not get a goal. The visitors were reduced to 10 men in the 88th min when defender Seyis received a 2nd yellow card but still managed to hold on for a point.Fethiye remain in 11th place on 18 points as none of the bottom 10 sides won today.
A tough away game in Ankara next week for Fethiye against 5th placed Keciorengucu, who have beaten Fethiye on their last 4 visits. Also in Yildiray Kocal they have the leagues top scorer so far this season.

And on a slightly better note it is 3 years ago this evening that Fethiyespor achieved their greatest ever result when they beat Fenerbahce 2-1 away, in the 4th round of the Ziraat Cup.

Fethiyespor earned a very creditable 1-1 draw this afternoon in Ankara against high flying Keciorengucu,to maintain new manager Akif Basaran's unbeaten record since he took charge 4 games ago.The game was 0-0 at half time and things looked bad for Fethiye when the hosts went ahead with 12 mins remaining, and 2 mins later centre half Hakki Can Aksu received a 2nd yellow card. However as the game moved into injury time substitute Huseyin Atalay scored his 2nd goal of the season to ensure Fethiye came away with a point.Fethiye move down one place to 12th on 19 points.
A tough home game next for Fethiye (the last before the winter break) when they take on Buyuksehir Belediye Erzurumspor from N.E.Turkey,next weekend.Erzurumspor have taken to life in Lig 2 really well following their promotion as champions from Lig 3 last season and currently sit 2nd in the league and with 33 goals already, they are the top scorers as well.

Fethiyespor's four game unbeaten run came to an end this afternoon as they lost 1-0 to high flying Erzurumspor with the visitors scoring deep into injury time. The first half was fairly even and Fethiye went close on 3 occasions with curled efforts from Hakan Kutlu that were either tipped over by the keeper or just too high.Erzurum thought they had taken the lead on 28 mins with a clever back heel from a right wing cross but the flag was up for offside.
As the 2nd half wore on the visitors looked more likely to score and sub Mehmet Albayrak should have scored with a clear header from 6 yards with 20 mins remaining. However with the last cross of the game he did score with a bullet header to hand the 3 points to the visitors and send the 250 odd fans from Erzurum home happy as their team now top the league.Fethiye remain in 12th but are only 3 points clear of the bottom three.
No games now for 3 weeks due to the mid-winter break.Fethiye are back in action on January 15th away in Istanbul to Fatih Karagumruk.

Most of the home games Trainer.
So Fethiyespor managed just 4 wins in their 17 games in this half of the season, along with 7 draws and 6 defeats. They scored 15 goals and conceded 21.Top scorer was centre half Bayram Cetin with 3 goals. The lack of goals scored has hampered their progress so far this season and if new players are to come in during the transfer window then a new striker should be top of the new manager's wish list.
