Foreign Identification Number (FIN) card
« on: October 23, 2019, 15:32:25 PM »
Hello all.
Does anyone know how to get a FIN card, or if that's a thing?

I'd just like to have a small (official) card for the wallet when I'm asked for the FIN. Currently, I have to look on the phone but it would be great to hand over an official government card with my name and FIN on it.

Otherwise, I guess I can print it...  : :)
Thanks in advance.
Dale

Back in the days when we had Residence Permits we had little blue books with our photos and various information in. They also contained a Yabanci Kimlik Numarasi / Foreign Identity Number, which I guess is what you're after ?

Unless you're a resident or citizen, I don't think you'll have a FIN.

No doubt someone will be along later with some more up to date information.

I have a FIN, set up when I closed on my flats and had to set up bank accounts (I guess it was to report any rental income). It's just a pain to pull the phone out as I don't remember it while in the USA we received printed cards with our Social Security number and name on it. As I don't yet speak Turkish, it would make it easier when dealing with the utilities, Belediyesi and other officials.

They used to issue Tax numbers at the Maliye and wrote them on a small credit card sized pice of paper. I don't know whether they still do.

Probably easier to do your own.

You could head it as : Vergi Kimlik Numarasi
