Food prices have risen dramatically in Turkey. A 250 g pack of supermarket own butter increased from 19,90 to 29.90 in less than 2 weeks, and not so long before cost 9.90 lira.
Meat is not a possibility for many Turkish families, just too expensive. Inflation is raging in Turkey, the true inflation figure is much higher than the official one, so prices increase all the time. But with the good exchange rate, for tourists, Turkey should still seem to be a good option price wise.
And of course, petrol, electricity, gas, have all jumped in price. As has the price of medicines and treatments in hospitals.

i found the food prices quite expensive if i'm honest ok, its been four years since we last came to turkey and, our first time in calis, even the lokantis we ate in were'nt that cheap, yes the quality of the food is remarkable but we found that if you went away from the seafront the prices and quality differed a lot,
we ate at babzum a lot as the food was amazing, we tried georges as i like a bit of steak it was nice but the babzun was far far better, it was a shame we didn't venture further up the road just try the salmon at the babzun, i'm not really a fish person unless its wrapped in batter with chips and salt and vinegar but that meal was truley outstanding it really was, ice cream at the ramondo was like omg :P

UK food prices are very quickly catching up and now, due to the heatwave, most supermarkets are either rationing water or have already run out of supplies.

Hi Tony, if you walk up Barış Manço away from çalış high street it's on the right just past şok supermarket. It's on the corner just before the little park area.
