Starman, I have to say that you are usually 100% spot on, but not this time, my English Nokia phone is still working fine more than 24 hours after the deadline. Fingers crossed!

Uk phone 18months old with turk sim card working... Uk phone turk sim card 1 year old not working.
some where in all the "gloopy loop" literature I did see something about the age of a phone. Cant be bothered with it any more went out and spent 120TL on a new phone, very basic but does the job. the new phone never did the ironing anyway!!

hi all caza here excuse me for being dumb but this phone business is so ccnfusing when all this jumble is unravelled what does it all mean ? is it better to buy a phone in turkey or can you still bring you old one (or new one ) from the uk Please can someone help me to understand !! xx

I know the feeling Caza.
I think that you can still bring one from uk provided you have the receipt and declare it at Dalaman upon arrival, no doubt someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Correct Anne but make sure the receipt has your name on it and the imei number.
Australian friend had her phone cut off tonight. On the phone it says

? instead of turkcell.
Rimms the message was in Turkish and said 35826******imei no'lu cihaz kayit disi listesinde oldugu icin 24 saat icinde kullanim disi birakilacaktir. hattiniz acik kalacaktir. bilgi icin 444 0532.

Like I said Starman, you are usually 100% spot on, and your record still stands, our phone was cut off this morning!

Is the only solution now to buy a Turkish mobile? Does anyone know how much they cost?
