It's that time of the year folks :))
We are now in our fifth year with this and it's always been a success so I'm hope it will be again in 2017.
For new members the way it works is that I will randomly allocate each of the 40 runners with a number.
Members who want to participate simply pick the number(s) between 1 and 40 they want. I then publish the list of the runners and the CBF member whose number corresponds to them just before the race which is on Saturday 08 April.
The price of a horse this year is £ 7.00 (unless you want to make it something different ;)) and the winner will receive a prize to the value of £ 20.00.
It's not too early to pick your number - so book early to avoid disappointment.
Please help the children if you can. :)

Just as an encouragement. A couple of years ago I got a horse in this Grand National Competition. I put £2.00 on it, at the Bookies (well Phil did). it won and I got £110.00 in winnings. So, go on, have a go.

Come on folks. If you've not already done so, please consider buying a "horse" for this very good cause. Highlander spends a lot of time on this annual fundraiser (amongst others).
Help him out and dig deep into your hearts for the kids. ;D ;D ;D

I am with you there Toky. No pressure but £7.00 is not a lot to help the kids in the place we all love to holiday in.
CBF do such good work for the local children and they are all volunteers.

The final list of runners was published at 10:00am this morning and I have allocated the runners to those who have been good enough to take a number(s).
I still have 9 numbers left so I will hold off posting the list in the hope that some more numbers go.
If not I will post before the race.

I have also previously had an offer to take whatever numbers were left from a member who wants to remain anonymous. This is by no means the first time this member has made a generous contribution.

In passing, may I just observe that on this particular occasion and despite support from the usual participants I failed to persuade enough “members” to fill a list of 40, that 10 % of the numbers were taken by member’s spouses and that in the end I had to rely on two members “mopping up” remaining numbers. Ah well hey-ho.
On behalf of the kids a massive thank you to everyone who took part.
