Could Ronnie O'Sullivan not have gone for the 147 and donated the prize money to charity.

Irrespective of the rights and wrongs of his decision (and his rationale for not going for the 147), why should he donate any of his wages to charity?

I think this adds a bit to the game,no publicity is bad as they say.Entirely his decision,he doesn't play for fun ,it's an occupation but if he wants to spice it up a bit why not.Gives someone a chance of winning a bigger sum

Good news on that front Mark, according the UK press today the sponsors of the event BetVictor in this instance, will be paying out on any 147 bets
