Dearest Pookie, as we are now living back in Loz's home county of Hampshire, (which, I am sure you will appreciate,) is some what South of the border between Sassenach territory and Gods own country, the potential for myself to have a wee go at hunting the "Beastie" this season, is somewhat diminished. Having been in regular contact with my brother Jimmy in Arbroath, I am assured that there is an abundance of the "Low Flyer", or Coastal Haggis, in and around the Angus area. Unfortunately, due to the prevailing strong winds coming from the North Sea, these particular fellows are forced to fly backwards in order to keep the blown sand out of their eyes, which makes it very difficult to shoot the little B&^%tards, as you never know where they are coming from!!
The Common, or Highland haggis has been hunted almost to extinction by English Ex-patriates, who have been flooding the breeding grounds lately, in order to catch the fledglings, and take them to foreign fields in a vain attempt to rear/sell them abroad.
This will not work, as the wee critturs must have cool, clean water, and loads of the "Pease Brose", in order to flourish.
Gordy,
Have a good one, we're having Haggis'n Neeps , Ha Ha !!
:P
