Out of curiosity, how do you get a capital i then? That's what I get when I set my English keyboard to Turkish alphabet.

Ah, if using English keyboard in Turkish it would be the key two along from the L on a Turkish keyboard that is the dotted i, with the I that we see on an English keyboard being the undotted i. So you would still need to use the shift key to make it a capital.  (I hope that is correct, I am using a Turkish keyboard that has had the language changed to English)
