Scottish Referendum.
« on: August 31, 2014, 12:32:37 PM »
I have a postal vote,my wife too.Filled them out and posted them last week.I am British and have voted accordingly.I was born in England, raised in Scotland. What annoys me is that the vote is only allocated to people resident in Scotland. In other words-Asians,Poles etc etc who are domiciled here can vote.My Sister in law,and her family reside in England. They were born in Scotland but do not have a vote in this.I am also disgusted with the Yes campaign of vitriolic abuse to anyone who stands for a NO vote.Look at what happened to Jim Murphy the other day.Badgered assaulted and drowned out. What ever happened to civilized society?

How would you propose they send out the voting cards to all the Scottish people, living all over the World?

Very simple really, Post Offices or Government buildings, e.g. Embassies, could/should have the appropriate "Proxy Voting " paper work to enable this to happen !!

A vote on the future of Scotland, for all the people that moved away from it to live their lives in other countries. Yep, I can see how that would be important.

I was born in England.  I live in Scotland and have done for many years.   If there was a vote solely for people who lived in England, I would not expect to have a vote, why should I?  Our choice was to move from England to live and work in Scotland.
if people have chosen to move away from Scotland and make their lives elsewhere in the world, why on earth should they have a say in what happens here?
