Title: Notorised documents
Post by: andyfitz on August 23, 2019, 12:21:39 PM
We are wanting to have our passport notorised and apostilled (if that's even a word) as we are buying a villa in Fethiye.
Can anyone advise please how to do this in the UK and what is the cheapest way to accomplish.
I have searched and can find may companies who certify and apostille, but I think for Turkey they need to be notorised.
Thanks in advance.

Search for a local 'Notary Public'. Most towns have them, usually working at or with solicitors.

We had to do this a few years ago.

As KKOB says, you find a Notary Public that are mostly solicitors or attached to them. Once your document is complete, you send it to be Apostilled by the UK Govt - this basically makes this an internationally legalised document. The Notary can do this or you can do it yourself

Once you find your local notary solicitor, they can arrange all of the above and then you send that to Turkey where it will be sent for translation and notorisation (if that is a word, you started it  ;) ) - all fairly standard stuff, they'll know what to do with the paperwork once it arrives in Turkey.
