Title: Residency what are the liabilities
Post by: suehugh on March 27, 2014, 21:41:35 PM
In the event of gating residency, are there any obligations or costs other than the actual fee ?
E.g
Are you automatically liable for healthcare costs from the date of inception
Are you liable for Turkish tax.

Thanks

No obligation to get healthcare

You are liable to pay taxes in Turkey even without residency, for example - you are taxed on the interest on a bank account.

Good Question Sue   :)

One of the things I've wondered is about 'possible difficulties' for an individual if, when, that person, who is 'usually' registered as a UK resident buys/claims residence in Turkey?  I understand that this is done to accommodate the (ever changing) Turkish Visa rules! but the question is - Are there possible consequences in making this declaration?
