Bless you Marggie for taking the time to do this, I have had a look and I think I am getting it, so what I am going to have to do is roughly work out when my trips may be and then count backwards....though I still think it is going to have to be the residency route eventually...
Thank you Marggie   :)

Thanks Marggie for all your time and trouble. Will now try to work this out for the dates we have been in Turkey this year. We normally come twice a year for 6 weeks (6 weeks May to July and the other six ending just as the 180 days run out). We only pay £10 visas once (on first entry).

thanks again. Have a good Christmas.

We used 1 eVisa yesterday (as mine was still current) as we flew via Istanbul and just in case there were queues or we were late when we landed at 5am as we only had just over an hour before our connection to DLM.

All very easy to buy/print etc, but on top of the £12.24 converted rate, HSBC MasterCard charged £0.36 for a foreign transaction fee.

Not sure if that is a % or set fee.
